Andrew WajsAndrew Wajs, Chief Technology Officer
Andrew Wajs joined Irdeto in 1992 as a development engineer where he architected the world’s first DVB Conditional Access system. Since joining he has been the senior systems architect, a key innovator and patent author. Subsequent to this he has been the force behind many start-up projects within Irdeto ranging from secure music distribution, session based watermarking for video and audio content, the world’s first pay satellite mobile TV solution in Korea and software based security solutions for digital content. Andrew has held a range of positions ranging from engineering, system engineering, VP Product Line Management and is now the Chief Technology Officer of Irdeto. Before Irdeto, he managed the Advanced Products Group in Mindport during 1998-99. Prior to that, he held a similar position at Altech Public Networks. Andrew has a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.

Ben GidleyBen Gidley, Director, Technology
Ben Gidley is an expert in applying technology to business problems and works on incubating new technology from Irdeto into the market. Ben is currently leading on a number of initiatives to secure the web browsing experience in banking, media and other industries with Irdeto’s cloaked JavaScript technology. Ben’s expertize is in secure and scalable web and mobile solutions and is an industry expert on Multiscreen e-commerce video experiences. Ben’s experience is rooted in online services, prior to Irdeto he worked for ioko (media) and Anite (government security) leading the ‘Project Kangaroo’ initiative for BBC, ITV, C4, SeeSaw and a number of security focused projects.

Frank PoppelsdorfFrank Poppelsdorf, Director, Product Management
Frank is the senior product director for Irdeto’s conditional access business lines; defining the product development and strategy. As a member of the DVB CI Plus standardization group he has been instrumental in defining the commercial requirements for the future version of CI+ used in consumer electronic devices. His background encompasses financial-, automation- services as well as consumer electronics and media. Frank is passionate about technology and how it can enhance people’s lives.

Mark Mulready, Senior Director, Cyber Services & Investigations, Revenue Assurance Services
Mark Mulready has held the position of Senior Director with Irdeto’s Anti-Piracy & Forensics Team since April 2010. Mark is responsible for managing global investigative and intelligence activities regarding piracy threats to Irdeto or Irdeto’s customers. He also manages the compliance and reporting teams providing Irdeto Piracy Control Services. From 2002 to 2010, Mark was the Fraud & Operational Security Manager at FOXTEL, Australia’s largest Pay TV broadcaster, where he was responsible for managing anti-piracy and fraud nationally. Mark also served 16 years in New South Wales Police Service from 1986 to 2002 where he completed 12 years duty as a Detective, including special assignments in the Drug Enforcement Agency and the National Crime Authority and 3 years as a Prosecutor. Mark has managed hundreds of complex piracy and fraud investigations and prosecutions, including a ground breaking Pay TV piracy case, resulting in over AUD$1.3m in damages being awarded to FOXTEL. Mark is regularly called upon to provide information, advice and presentations to Industry, Government and Law Enforcement. Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Wollongong and was admitted as a Solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2004.

Bengt Jonsson, Senior Vice President, Sales
Bengt is responsible for strategic planning for key accounts, new business acquisition, developing new growth opportunities, leading Irdeto’s global sales team and overseeing the company’s integrated marketing program. Bengt joined Irdeto as Vice President Sales, Asia Pacific in July 2008. Prior to joining Irdeto, Bengt was CEO of LyngBox Media AB, a Swedish hybrid set-top box start-up. He has also held senior management positions with Thomson’s Client Device business unit in Asia and with Nokia’s multimedia business units in Asia and Europe. Bengt holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Linkoping University in Sweden and Cranfield Institute of Technology in the UK.

david_jones_2David W. Jones, Sr. Director – Global Business Development
David joined Irdeto in 2008. Since that time, his responsibilities have included Global partnership strategy and management, and technical partner support services. Dave has extensive international experience working with diverse global partnerships and their introduction to Irdeto’s global customers. In 2014, David moved to the Business Development team to drive entry into new markets/segments which can benefit from Irdeto’s core technologies. David now leads Irdeto’s Payments and Banking segment, delivering solutions to the Financial Services industry and driving relevant partnerships and channels.

Dave Belt, Product Marketing DirectorDave currently serves as Product Marketing Director for Irdeto where he is defining the next generation of content security solutions. Dave Belt has been a specialist in cryptography and content protection technologies for the past 20 years. With a strong foundation in the Intelligence and Defense communities, Dave has spent the last decade leveraging his security skills to deliver superior video experiences to the cable consumer. Prior to Irdeto, Dave was heading up important industry security initiatives as Principal Architect at Time Warner Cable and Security Architect at CableLabs. He was also Engineering Manager at EchoStar leading set top box security and home networking technologies. Dave holds a Masters degree in Systems Engineering from Wright State University.

Rodrigo Fernandes, Product Owner Control Component
Rodrigo is the product manager for Irdeto’s multi-DRM product. He has over 14 years of professional experience having previously worked for both infrastructure vendors such as Nokia and NokiaSiemens as well as tier-1 operators like T-Mobile.
