Andrew Hoyt, Pre-Sales Engineer, Connected Health
Andrew Hoyt has over a decade of software engineering experience working for companies that range from small Ottawa-area tech start ups, to Nortel Networks, to Canada’s Nobel prize winning neutrino observatory. Regardless of the role, Andrew has always had a passion for understanding technology and passing that enthusiasm on to others. Andrew joined Irdeto in 2016 as a Software Engineer implementing new features for Irdeto’s Cloakware Software Protection product offerings. In 2019 he transitioned to a more customer-facing role, looking after the EMEA region as a technical expert interfacing with customer engineering teams and working with them to develop solutions to their security problems.
Andrew holds Bachelor’s of Science in both Engineering Physics and Computer Science from Canada’s Queen’s University. He’s also studied at the IMD school of business in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Arjen Fokkema, Business Process Architect
Arjen Fokkema is Business Process Architect and CSR Lead at Irdeto and is responsible for business process architecture, management systems and the CSR program. Arjen has 18 years of experience in process-, change- and risk management, developing sustainable business process improvements globally. Arjen graduated from Hanzehogeschool Groningen with a degree in Industrial Engineering and has previous experience in the pharmaceutical, medical devices and infant formula industry. He prides himself on being innovative, keenly pragmatic and always on the lookout for a better way. Better for our business, the people and our planet.
Bahman Sistany, Senior Security Analyst and Researcher
Bahman joined Irdeto in 2003 as a Compiler Designer, Bahman since then worked on several advanced application-level security features such as various control flow obfuscations. He has held several roles, including manager of large development, infrastructure and QA teams and later as a product evangelist and owner. More recently, Bahman has been leading research into obfuscation and tamper resistance technology, high assurance software protection and functional safety, application of AI/ML systems to security, and confidentiality/privacy of ML systems. Bahman holds a PhD in computer science (formal verification) from University of Ottawa.
Bengt Jonsson, Senior Vice President, Solutions Management
Bengt is responsible for strategic planning for key accounts, new business acquisition, developing new growth opportunities, leading Irdeto’s global sales team and overseeing the company’s integrated marketing program. Bengt joined Irdeto as Vice President Sales, Asia Pacific in July 2008. Prior to joining Irdeto, Bengt was CEO of LyngBox Media AB, a Swedish hybrid set-top box start-up. He has also held senior management positions with Thomson’s Client Device business unit in Asia and with Nokia’s multimedia business units in Asia and Europe. Bengt holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Linkoping University in Sweden and Cranfield Institute of Technology in the UK.
Bhagyashri Sarbhukan, DevOps Engineer
Bhagyashri has about 10 years of experience in software testing and has been working as a DevOps engineer for past 2 years. She works with AWS cloud services for creating secured infrastructure for deployment of solutions and automation. Bhagyashri enjoys learning new stuff and of late has been using her spare time learning different cloud services. She is here to share her learnings!
Bob Hernandez, Sales Director, Denuvo
Bob worked for Sony DADC for 17 years where he held many roles of increasing responsibility, including positions in Digital Authoring, Marketing and as Director of Business Development for the Sony DADC DigitalWorks department. He has expertise in contract negotiations, sales, business development and customer relationship management working with major games publishers such as Electronic Arts and Take 2 and major film studios such as Sony Pictures and Lionsgate.
Brian Yuan, Cloakware® Product Owner
Brian has spent the past 6 years at Irdeto as a Product Owner / Product Manager in the media security and anti piracy teams, working on a range of products from ActiveCloak and Irdeto’s Secure Media Player, to Web Discovery. Prior to this he worked in Telecommunications (Nortel & Natural Convergence) and IPTV Middleware (Espial) where he performed a variety of roles from emergency support to Systems / Sales Engineering. Brian holds a Systems Design Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo.
Catherine Chambers (Cloakware® Cate), Senior Product Manager
Since 2011 Catherine has been helping to architect Irdeto’s security solutions for web, mobile and embedded systems. She sometimes posts videos for Irdeto on the subject of reverse engineering under the name Cloakware® Cate. Prior to joining Irdeto, Catherine worked for many years as a lead programmer in fast-paced startups. Her experience spans the range from coding in assembler to cloud computing. Catherine holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics from Queen’s University.
Daniel Thunberg, Global Head, Connected Transport
Daniel is the Global Head of Connected Transport at Irdeto. Having been through digitalization in the media industry over the past 15 years, Daniel brings key insights and experience on security issues impacting the automotive industry in today’s connected world. Prior to Irdeto, Daniel has held several senior leadership roles, including EVP of Sales and Marketing at KIT Digital Asia Pacific. When KIT was restructured to Piksel, he held the position of SVP of Commercial EMEA/APAC. He was also VP of Global Sales at International Datacasting. Daniel holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam, a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Linkoping’s University in Political Science and Sociology, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Strategic Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the UK.
Frank Poppelsdorf, VP of Content Protection
Frank is Vice President for Irdeto’s content protection business line and leads the strategic direction for Irdeto’s Android TV offering, Conditional Access, OTT and watermarking. He oversees a global team of product management experts to define product development across these business areas and has a background of nine years’ experience in conditional access and 18 years in the media industry. Frank is an expert in content delivery platforms and holds a Masters in Computer Science from Utrecht University.
Jan-Jaap Oosterwijk, Global Head of Innovation
As Global Head of Innovation, Jan-Jaap oversees, stimulates, and facilitates innovation at Irdeto on a global scale. He manages the innovation process across Irdeto with the focus on driving revenue growth, optimizing cost, and building Irdeto’s winning culture. Jan-Jaap joined Irdeto in 2012 as a Researcher while pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics at the Eindhoven University of Technology. In this role, he specialized in data analytics and forensics and provided insights both to clients of Irdeto as well as to teams within the company. Next, as a Technology Evangelist Jan-Jaap made technically complex concepts accessible to a broad audience, identifying emerging technologies, and verbalizing both their potential and limitations to customers and partners of Irdeto. Besides strategic management, he curates innovation activities and events, both inside and outside of Irdeto with a diverse range of stakeholders. Passionate about teamwork, he enjoys collaborating with people with a wide range of skills and strives to match people to challenges.
Juan Martinez Puig, Exco Associate
Juan Martinez is responsible of the OTT media protection products at Irdeto and has extensive experience in the introduction of new technologies as digitalization of TV, HD and 4K, as well as large OTT deployments. Juan has been working in global electronics and telecommunication businesses since 1999 for companies including Phillips, Liberty Global, and Acision, before joining Irdeto. Originally from Barcelona, Juan holds an MSc in Electronic engineering.
Joby Jester, Solutions Architect
Joby Jester is a cybersecurity solutions architect working for Irdeto in the connected transportation field. He also leads the security team for the GENIVI Alliance where he is working to establish a collaborative and inclusive security workgroup between OEMs and Tier 1s. He believes collaboration will create a security-first approach to the development lifecycle, which drives success of all parties involved. Joby has previously developed and implemented cybersecurity controls and requirements for connected infotainment, gateway, and telematics ECUs during his tenure at Ford Motor Company. In this role he pioneered state-of-the art security implementations to increase the overall security posture of vehicles and their respective connected systems.
Kelly van Krieken, Director of Corporate Development
Kelly van Krieken is the Director of Corporate Development and is responsible for supporting strategy and inorganic growth for Irdeto. Kelly is a Chartered Accountant and has extensive Finance knowledge. With over 15 years of experience working for multinationals, she is familiar to a busy, high-paced environment. Included within her responsibilities at Irdeto is the oversight of the Market Intelligence – Competitor Intelligence team. Kelly is passionate about Diversity and Inclusion and plays a key role in implementing and supporting key initiatives throughout Irdeto.
Kerstin Shrader, VP of Global Human Resources
Kerstin Schrader is Irdeto’s VP of Global Human Resources – Global Head of People and holds 17 years of HR experience of which, before joining Irdeto in 2016. Her focus areas and passion for global programs are around Cultural Transformation, Employment Value Proposition, and Engagement. She works with a strong focus on cross-pollination to generate a holistic approach to HR, being guided by transparency, fairness, and high quality. Kerstin holds a Master’s degree in Work-, Organizational & Clinical Psychology with additional specialization in Labour Law. Kerstin is German, has lived in Australia and South Africa, and now calls Amsterdam her home where she lives with her family.
Since becoming our Global Head of People in July last year, Kerstin has re-built and re-energized the HR team. Under her leadership, Irdeto rolled out the Organizational Talent Review, as well as a new more accountable approach to objectives and incentives. We’ve improved key elements of our employee experience, including an enhanced approach to career development. Kerstin and her team have increased Irdeto’s focus on diversity and inclusion, rolled out OfficeVibe to provide a real-time platform in support of employee engagement, and built a stronger relationship with the HR teams at our parent company MultiChoice Group.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, Kerstin has made tremendous efforts to protect both the business and the Irdeto team from the effects of it and is now looking ahead to boost our culture with the learnings we gained.
Liam Deane, Market Intelligence Analyst
Liam is Irdeto’s Market Intelligence Analyst for Connected Industries. He is responsible for researching and analyzing the many emerging markets from connected healthcare to industrial IoT in which rapid changes in technology are bringing about new and growing needs for digital security products. He brings many years of experience working as a market analyst across industries including digital advertising, video games and financial services at leading research firms such as Omdia and GlobalData. Originally from Ireland, Liam holds a Master’s degree in Philosophy from University College London.
Mark Mulready, Vice President of Cybersecurity Services
Mark leads the strategic direction, global delivery and management of Cybersecurity Services for sports rights owners, broadcasters/operators, games publishers and other verticals. In addition to managing a global team of analysts, investigators and product management experts, Mark oversees the marketing activities for the Irdeto Cybersecurity Services team.
Mark was previously the Fraud & Operational Security Manager at Foxtel and also served 16 years in New South Wales Police Service including special assignments in the Drug Enforcement Agency, the National Crime Authority and 3 years as a Prosecutor.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Wollongong and was admitted as a Solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2004. He is currently Vice President for the leading pan European industry association – AAPA. (http://www.aapa.eu/)
Michail Greshishchev, Product Owner, Denuvo by Irdeto
Michail Greshishchev is a software engineer with a passion for reverse engineering. His career revolves around software reliability & safety critical systems. His recent accomplishments were contributing a security analysis framework to Automotive Grade Linux (AGL), enabling automotive manufacturers to protect future cars from cyber-attacks, and winning a US Navy CTF hacking competition in Austin, Texas. Presently, he is the Denuvo Anti-Cheat product owner at Denuvo by Irdeto.
Peter Cossack, Cybersecurity Services Segment Lead- Studios
Pete Cossack has been with Irdeto since 2010 and has responsibility for managing the Watermarking and Anti-Piracy business. He has 18 years of experience in the entertainment industry with 11 of those years dedicated to helping clients build and implement strategies around content protection and anti-piracy services. Pete has helped deliver multi-million dollar products and services from concept to market for companies like Rovi, Cryptography Research Inc and HBO. Pete served in the United States Marine Corps for four years.
Per Stjernqvist, Industry Consultant
One of the worlds most experienced in turning machine data into Services & Solutions. Creating innovative customer value propositions based on interviews, observations and trends in customer behavior is his trademark.
7 years at Volvo Truck Corporation and 18 years at Volvo Construction Equipment as Managing Director and global developer of services- and solutions.

Phil Eisen, Senior System Architect
Phil joined Irdeto in 2001, where he was co-inventor and principal developer of white-box AES. After leading the team responsible for white-box cryptography and data transformations, he was a lead designer and developer on several DRM solutions, as well as Irdeto’s innovative cardless CA system. Phil is currently part of the System Architecture team, helping define features across all products in the Cloakware® Marketing Unit. Prior to Irdeto, his other positions include Director of Engineering at Perspecys/Blue Coat Canada, and Cryptomathematician at Communications Security Establishment. Phil holds a Master of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.
Reinhard Blaukovitsch, Founder and Managing Director, Denuvo
Reinhard previously worked with Sony DADC as the Senior Vice President of Digital Works for 23 years, where he was successful in business development through strategic and entrepreneurial thinking.
With a wealth of international experience as a business unit leader in the software and entertainment industry for a global service and supply chain company, Reinhard has an analytical and structured working style with experience in leading an international team of up to 200 people.
He has extensive commercial and technical understanding of digital supply chain and license management solutions for the entertainment industry, and achieved sustained revenue and operating profit growth through market understanding and lean management.
Rodrigo Fernandes, Director, Product Management
Rodrigo is the product manager for Irdeto’s multi-DRM product. He has over 14 years of professional experience having previously worked for both infrastructure vendors such as Nokia and NokiaSiemens as well as tier-1 operators like T-Mobile.
Ronald Peters, Product Manager
Ronald leads product management for Trusted Home as well as Conditional Access at Irdeto, helping operators and service providers address security and deployment challenges for internet and broadcast services. Prior to joining Irdeto, he has worked for both service providers and technology providers, including Vodafone Ziggo, Samsung and Nokia. With 20 years of experience in mobility and media technologies, Ronald has insights into consumer and business trends driving the shifts in media consumption today. Ronald holds a Master of Science degree in Electronics and certifications in product management, marketing and business management.
Ryan Ward, Technical Account Manager
Ryan Ward is a technical account manager working for Irdeto in the connected transportation field. Ryan, a 20 year automotive-industry veteran, has focused his career on developing and launching new innovation. Ryan began his career in the fastening industry, where he filed multiple patents and had the opportunity to work in Germany/France for 5 years. In 2017, Ryan made the shift into electronics and managed an innovation team developing advanced human machine interfaces (HMI) and passive-entry-passive-start (PEPS) systems. Understanding the importance of cybersecurity for connected vehicles, Ryan joined Irdeto in 2019 to help the automotive and trucking industries embrace connectivity without fear.
Simon Rix, Product Strategist and Security Engineer
Simon Rix is a Product Strategist and Security Engineer at Irdeto, with over 35 years’ experience in Security Engineering across various domains.
Simon joined M-Net in 1986 and became one of the pioneers of Irdeto’s Pay TV Conditional Access system design in the analogue and DVB digital direct to home satellite domains. Simon has helped design and develop many secure microprocessors, smart card, ASICs and FPGA that have formed the core of tens of millions of set top decoders and our scrambling uplink solutions. Simon has developed patents that helped underpin Irdeto’s success in the Pay TV marketplace. Most recently Simon has managed development teams in Ottawa where Irdeto develops parts of smartcard-less CA and white box cryptography solutions.
When he has free time, Simon loves being with his family, hiking and just being outdoors.
Steeve Huin, Chief Marketing Officer
Steeve is Chief Marketing Officer at Irdeto. He is a seasoned cybersecurity executive with nearly 20 years of experience in building products, driving engagement and revenue within the cybersecurity domain. Steeve has wealth of market knowledge and experience in the video entertainment, mobile gaming and connected industries such as healthcare and transport.
Steeve holds a Master’s degree in Software Engineering and is well-versed in the international business landscape, having held key strategic positions in the Netherlands, Canada and China throughout his career. Prior to his current leadership role at Irdeto, Steeve was Co-Chief Executive Officer at International Datacasting Corporation (IDC), a technology provider to the world’s premiere broadcasters in Canada.
Sven Schmidberger, Compliance Officer – Connected Transport
Sven is the Compliance Officer for Irdeto‘s Connected Transport business, leading technical compliance, quality assurance, validation & verification, and standardization. He‘s a seasoned leader with background in engineering & development and compliance including functional safety and cyber-security.
Prior to joining Irdeto Sven held progressive roles in the Automotive industries in Germany and USA. Moser recently he was responsible for engineering & development in North America for a Tier-1 supplier focused on HMI and vehicle access applications.
Sven holds a Diplom-Ingenieur degree in Information Technology from Baden-Württemberg Corporative State University (Germany).
Will Hickie, Data Science Architect
Will Hickie joined Irdeto in 2018 as a Data Science Architect to investigate how machine learning could be used to improve software and intellectual property protection.
As a data scientist, Will employs a statistical data-to-outcomes approach to problem solving. With 20 years of software development experience, and more than a decade of applied ML, he is able to speak to both engineering and machine learning disciplines. Will kicked off his career with a startup during the tech boom of the 1990s, designing algorithms for real-time surveillance systems. In his spare time, Will enjoys hiking and spending time with his family.
