Andrew Hoyt, Pre-Sales Engineer, Connected Health
Andrew Hoyt has over a decade of software engineering experience working for companies that range from small Ottawa-area tech start ups, to Nortel Networks, to Canada’s Nobel prize winning neutrino observatory. Regardless of the role, Andrew has always had a passion for understanding technology and passing that enthusiasm on to others. Andrew joined Irdeto in 2016 as a Software Engineer implementing new features for Irdeto’s Cloakware Software Protection product offerings. In 2019 he transitioned to a more customer-facing role, looking after the EMEA region as a technical expert interfacing with customer engineering teams and working with them to develop solutions to their security problems.
Andrew holds Bachelor’s of Science in both Engineering Physics and Computer Science from Canada’s Queen’s University. He’s also studied at the IMD school of business in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Anti-Cheat Team @ Denuvo
Denuvo by Irdeto’s Anti-Cheat Team is located in Wroclaw, Poland and Salzburg, Austria. Its mission is to stealthily detect gaming cheating attempts and provide evidence for best-in-class anti-cheat solutions employed by global gaming customers.
Arjen Fokkema, Business Process Architect
Arjen Fokkema is Business Process Architect and CSR Lead at Irdeto and is responsible for business process architecture, management systems and the CSR program. Arjen has 18 years of experience in process-, change- and risk management, developing sustainable business process improvements globally. Arjen graduated from Hanzehogeschool Groningen with a degree in Industrial Engineering and has previous experience in the pharmaceutical, medical devices and infant formula industry. He prides himself on being innovative, keenly pragmatic and always on the lookout for a better way. Better for our business, the people and our planet.
Bhagyashri Sarbhukan, DevOps Engineer
Bhagyashri has about 10 years of experience in software testing and has been working as a DevOps engineer for past 2 years. She works with AWS cloud services for creating secured infrastructure for deployment of solutions and automation. Bhagyashri enjoys learning new stuff and of late has been using her spare time learning different cloud services. She is here to share her learnings!
Bob Gottschalk, Technical Account Manager
Bob Gottschalk is a Technical Sales Manager at Irdeto, focused on development of secure connected solutions for the Automotive and Trucking markets.
Bob is a long time Automotive professional with more than 20 years of experience bringing connected vehicle solutions to market with Motorola and Continental Automotive. For the past four years, Bob has been working in Irdeto’s Connected Transport business unit with responsibility for bringing both cyber-security and phone-as-a-key solutions to market. Irdeto’s vision of ‘Embracing connectivity without fear’ is realized in the products Irdeto brings to market, including those targeted toward the transportation industry and connected vehicles.
Bob Hernandez, Sales Director, Denuvo
Bob worked for Sony DADC for 17 years where he held many roles of increasing responsibility, including positions in Digital Authoring, Marketing and as Director of Business Development for the Sony DADC DigitalWorks department. He has expertise in contract negotiations, sales, business development and customer relationship management working with major games publishers such as Electronic Arts and Take 2 and major film studios such as Sony Pictures and Lionsgate.
Bruce Curtin, Product Director
Bruce Curtin is currently a Product Director in Irdeto focusing on enabling and securing next generation media protection solutions for Pay TV Operators. After a brief period of development in the Telecommunications industry in South Africa, Bruce has joined Irdeto. Over a 20-year period Bruce has worked on many of Irdeto’s key security product initiatives covering scalable broadcast client security integrations, secure chipset ramp up, end to end middleware, multiscreen and even secure-payments and PCI compliance. Lately Bruce is focused on bringing operators the hybrid middleware solutions they need to become super aggregators as they bring new targeted OTT business on board. During this period Bruce has also been enthusiastically involved in supporting the transition of Irdeto from old style security company into an active and agile Service oriented Security and Solution Provider that can best meet the needs of Pay TV operators that need to aggregate and differentiate in the competitive and fast moving Pay TV landscape today. Bruce holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Cape Town (South Africa).
Daniel Thunberg, Global Head, Connected Transport
Daniel is the Global Head of Connected Transport at Irdeto. Having been through digitalization in the media industry over the past 15 years, Daniel brings key insights and experience on security issues impacting the automotive industry in today’s connected world. Prior to Irdeto, Daniel has held several senior leadership roles, including EVP of Sales and Marketing at KIT Digital Asia Pacific. When KIT was restructured to Piksel, he held the position of SVP of Commercial EMEA/APAC. He was also VP of Global Sales at International Datacasting. Daniel holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam, a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Linkoping’s University in Political Science and Sociology, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Strategic Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the UK.
Edward Florendo, Product Manager, Anti-Piracy and Cyber Services
Edward Florendo has been appointed as Product Manager for Irdeto’s Anti-Piracy and Cyber Services team this year. He has over 14 years’ experience in combatting various types of piracy and other cyber threats for the Video Entertainment and Video Games industry.
Erik Hietbrink, Product Manager, Watermarking
Erik is a Technical Product Manager for Watermarking at Irdeto. Erik has more than 17 years experience providing advanced premium content protection solutions and services to the pay media industry and combatting the growing scale and sophistication of online piracy. Most recently, Erik has been working with industry partners to tackle some of the key challenges facing content owners, post-production houses, and content aggregators fighting piracy that originates during the post-production and distribution processes with an easy to deploy, affordable forensic watermarking solution for mezzanine-quality file-based transmission. Based in the Netherlands, Erik holds a master’s degree in Software Engineering from the Radboud University (Netherlands).
Ettore Benedetti, Product Manager
Ettore is Product Manager and cybersecurity expert at Irdeto. He is responsible for building the identity and key management solutions that major manufacturers and communication service providers trust for protecting their investments in services, networks and, devices at scale. Ettore holds six patents in the area of embedded security solutions. Prior to Irdeto, Ettore worked at Thales on survivable networks for the battlefield and obtained a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Padua (Italy) and the University of Essex (UK).
Jan-Jaap Oosterwijk, Global Head of Innovation
As Global Head of Innovation, Jan-Jaap oversees, stimulates, and facilitates innovation at Irdeto on a global scale. He manages the innovation process across Irdeto with the focus on driving revenue growth, optimizing cost, and building Irdeto’s winning culture. Jan-Jaap joined Irdeto in 2012 as a Researcher while pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics at the Eindhoven University of Technology. In this role, he specialized in data analytics and forensics and provided insights both to clients of Irdeto as well as to teams within the company. Next, as a Technology Evangelist Jan-Jaap made technically complex concepts accessible to a broad audience, identifying emerging technologies, and verbalizing both their potential and limitations to customers and partners of Irdeto. Besides strategic management, he curates innovation activities and events, both inside and outside of Irdeto with a diverse range of stakeholders. Passionate about teamwork, he enjoys collaborating with people with a wide range of skills and strives to match people to challenges.
Jonathan Beverley, Director Cybersecurity Services – Connected Health Solutions, Irdeto
Jonathan joined Irdeto as an application security engineer in 2011 for the Cloakware team. Since then, he has held several senior technical positions within Irdeto’s core software security and reverse engineering teams over the past 11 years. Prior to joining the Connected Health team within Irdeto in early 2021, Jonathan was the principal reverse engineer in the CTO group at Irdeto.
Over the course of Jonathan’s time at Irdeto he has performed numerous security risk assessments, penetration tests and constructed comprehensive threat models for Irdeto customers in variety of industries, including healthcare, transportation, manufacturing and IIoT, video entertainment and video gaming.
Juan Martinez Puig, Exco Associate
Juan Martinez is responsible of the OTT media protection products at Irdeto and has extensive experience in the introduction of new technologies as digitalization of TV, HD and 4K, as well as large OTT deployments. Juan has been working in global electronics and telecommunication businesses since 1999 for companies including Phillips, Liberty Global, and Acision, before joining Irdeto. Originally from Barcelona, Juan holds an MSc in Electronic engineering.
Juha Hytönen, Director of Embedded Security Business Line, Connected Transport
Juha is the Director of Embedded Security Business Line for Connected Transport at Irdeto. During his career, Juha has worked in multiple different roles from software and hardware engineering to quality and compliance management in multiple industries including embedded devices, medical devices, business information systems, online gambling, automotive and rail. He has been involved in a number of industry firsts, like the first mobile Skype call, the first Linux in infotainment systems and the first digital instrument cluster. Today, Juha leads Irdeto’s Embedded Security Business Line with a mission to secure the things that move on land.
Kelly van Krieken, Director of Corporate Development
Kelly van Krieken is the Director of Corporate Development and is responsible for supporting strategy and inorganic growth for Irdeto. Kelly is a Chartered Accountant and has extensive Finance knowledge. With over 15 years of experience working for multinationals, she is familiar to a busy, high-paced environment. Included within her responsibilities at Irdeto is the oversight of the Market Intelligence – Competitor Intelligence team. Kelly is passionate about Diversity and Inclusion and plays a key role in implementing and supporting key initiatives throughout Irdeto.
Lisa Spencer, Vice President of Marketing/ Diversity & Inclusion Lead
Lisa Spencer is the VP of Marketing and D&I Lead at Irdeto. She is a seasoned marketing communications executive with more than 20 years of experience in creating awareness, and cultivating interest, engagement, and preference for a variety of companies in the technology, healthcare, and transportation industries. She is passionate and cares about all co-workers while making them feel part of the team. She is an experienced storyteller with a track record of creating demand generation and customer retention programs that contribute to the bottom line. Based in the Netherlands, Lisa holds a double major degree in Journalism and French from Carleton University (Canada).
Lucas Catranis, Director – Connected Health Solutions, Irdeto
Lucas Catranis is the Director of Connected Health Solutions at Irdeto. His responsibilities include overall product management of Irdeto’s connected health portfolio as well strategic relationship management. Lucas joined Irdeto in 2013 as a Sr. Engineer tasked with building Irdeto’s Service Operations Capabilities and then moved into a product management role in the Cybersecurity services team in 2015. In 2018, Lucas took on the role of the Chief of Staff to the Irdeto senior leadership team, where he worked cross-functionally to assist the various business leaders with the development of Irdeto’s long term strategy and business plans.
Mark Mulready, Vice President of Cybersecurity Services
Mark leads the strategic direction, global delivery and management of Cybersecurity Services for sports rights owners, broadcasters/operators, games publishers and other verticals. In addition to managing a global team of analysts, investigators and product management experts, Mark oversees the marketing activities for the Irdeto Cybersecurity Services team.
Mark was previously the Fraud & Operational Security Manager at Foxtel and also served 16 years in New South Wales Police Service including special assignments in the Drug Enforcement Agency, the National Crime Authority and 3 years as a Prosecutor.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Wollongong and was admitted as a Solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2004. He is currently Vice President for the leading pan European industry association – AAPA. (http://www.aapa.eu/)
Mike Seymour, Engineering Manager
Mike Seymour is the Head of Engineering for Irdeto’s Technology Team and holds over 25 years of experience in creating and delivering software and software security products to various markets. Prior to joining Irdeto in 2009, 10 years were spent in QA and Software Development for Optical Networks and Telecommunications at Nortel Networks (Ottawa). Besides his day-to-day job, Mike leads Irdeto’s global CSR initiatives focused on Good Health and Well-being – helping colleagues stay active and connected through a range of activities and challenges. Mike is a proud Newfoundlander currently living in Ottawa, Canada.
Ozlem Budakli, Quality Manager, Connected Health
Ozlem Budakli joined Irdeto in 2022 as a quality manager for the Connected Health team. Her responsibilities include the implementation and maintenance of the quality management system, complying with ISO 13485, EU regulations and other regulatory bodies. She brings 10 years of experience in quality and regulatory business from the medical device manufacturers industry, and has also been a lead auditor in a notified body. Ozlem holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Biomedical Engineering, is a certified lead auditor and has a wealth of expertise in both risk and quality management.

Phil Eisen, Senior System Architect
Phil joined Irdeto in 2001, where he was co-inventor and principal developer of white-box AES. After leading the team responsible for white-box cryptography and data transformations, he was a lead designer and developer on several DRM solutions, as well as Irdeto’s innovative cardless CA system. Phil is currently part of the System Architecture team, helping define features across all products in the Cloakware® Marketing Unit. Prior to Irdeto, his other positions include Director of Engineering at Perspecys/Blue Coat Canada, and Cryptomathematician at Communications Security Establishment. Phil holds a Master of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.

Reinhard Blaukovitsch is the founder and Managing Director of Denuvo by Irdeto, the global #1 Application Protection and Anti-Piracy Technology Platform. He is responsible for leading strategy and management of the gaming segment at Irdeto. With a track record of anticipating technology and market trends, Reinhard is dedicated to providing best-in-class solutions for global gaming customers.
Rodrigo Fernandes, Director, Product Management
Rodrigo is the product manager for Irdeto’s multi-DRM product. He has over 14 years of professional experience having previously worked for both infrastructure vendors such as Nokia and NokiaSiemens as well as tier-1 operators like T-Mobile.
Ronald Peters, Product Manager
Ronald leads product management for Trusted Home as well as Conditional Access at Irdeto, helping operators and service providers address security and deployment challenges for internet and broadcast services. Prior to joining Irdeto, he has worked for both service providers and technology providers, including Vodafone Ziggo, Samsung and Nokia. With 20 years of experience in mobility and media technologies, Ronald has insights into consumer and business trends driving the shifts in media consumption today. Ronald holds a Master of Science degree in Electronics and certifications in product management, marketing and business management.
Steeve Huin, SVP & GM, New Markets
Steeve is SVP & GM, New Markets at Irdeto. He is a seasoned cybersecurity executive with nearly 20 years of experience in building products, driving engagement and revenue within the cybersecurity domain. Steeve has wealth of market knowledge and experience in the video entertainment, mobile gaming and connected industries such as healthcare and transport.
Steeve holds a Master’s degree in Software Engineering and is well-versed in the international business landscape, having held key strategic positions in the Netherlands, Canada and China throughout his career. Prior to his current leadership role at Irdeto, Steeve was Co-Chief Executive Officer at International Datacasting Corporation (IDC), a technology provider to the world’s premiere broadcasters in Canada.
Will Hickie, Data Science Architect
Will Hickie joined Irdeto in 2018 as a Data Science Architect to investigate how machine learning could be used to improve software and intellectual property protection.
As a data scientist, Will employs a statistical data-to-outcomes approach to problem solving. With 20 years of software development experience, and more than a decade of applied ML, he is able to speak to both engineering and machine learning disciplines. Will kicked off his career with a startup during the tech boom of the 1990s, designing algorithms for real-time surveillance systems. In his spare time, Will enjoys hiking and spending time with his family.
